Last month, Oppo launched the Reno12 series of smartphones. It included two models – the basic Reno12 and the more advanced Reno12 Pro. Today, the company introduced the third model in this series – Reno12 F 5G. The new product offers a more affordable price tag and noticeably less advanced specifications than its two brothers.

Unlike the previously released Reno12 and Reno12 Pro, which use the Dimensity 8250 and Dimensity 9200+ processors, respectively, the Oppo Reno12 F model received the Dimensity 6300 chip. This is a mid-range solution that offers two Cortex-A76 cores with a frequency of 2.4 GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 2.0 GHz and a Mali-G57 MC2 graphics controller. The smartphone also received 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128, 256 or 512 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The volume of the latter can be expanded thanks to support for microSD memory cards.
Reno12 F 5G has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 2100 cd / m2 (in direct sunlight 1200 cd / m2). The screen is protected by AGC DT-Star2 glass.
The main camera unit of the device consists of a 50-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 optics, an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 optics for wide-angle shooting, and a 2-megapixel sensor for macro photography. On the front side of the device is a 32-megapixel camera with f/2.4 optics. Support for 1080p video recording is declared for the rear and front cameras. At the same time, the rear sensor can shoot at up to 60 frames per second, and also supports high-speed shooting mode at 720p resolution at 120 frames. The front camera only supports recording at 30 frames. An interesting feature of the rear camera island is its equipment with Halo RGB backlighting.
The smartphone runs Android 14 with the proprietary ColorOS 14.0.1 shell and supports a number of AI functions. In particular, support for AI Recording Summary for summarizing recordings on a voice recorder, AI Summary for taking notes on text, AI Writer and AI Speak for writing and voicing text is declared. For the camera, the functions AI Eraser 2.0, AI Smart Image Matting 2.0 and AI Studio for editing and processing photos are declared.
Reno12 F 5G is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charging with a power of 45 W (a full charge takes 71 minutes), an IR port, and also has an IP64 certificate of protection against dust and water.
The new product will be available for sale in green and orange body colors. The manufacturer did not report the cost of the smartphone.
