Meta✴ CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company is beginning to test AI avatars on Instagram✴ created by users using Meta✴’s AI Studio tool. Initially, the AI avatars will appear primarily in posts and will be labeled with the “AI” label.

As part of the test, in the coming weeks, subscribers of famous channels will be able to communicate with their idols through their AI avatars, which are essentially AI chatbots. It is noted that in the future, any user or company will be able to create their own chatbot on the platform to interact with their community and customers.
This innovative feature will help not to leave a single message from fans unattended, while physically responding to all incoming messages is simply impossible. Over time, such AI characters will become more sophisticated and may even become a kind of art, Zuckerberg believes.
The initial test will involve about 50 content creators and a small percentage of regular users. Meta✴ will then roll out the feature to more people over the next few months, starting around August.
Zuckerberg emphasized that this is not just an expansion of functionality, but a new level of interaction that allows for a closer connection with the audience and customers through personalized chatbots based on artificial intelligence. The ultimate goal is to develop different APIs that reflect the diversity of people’s interests and the ability to adapt AI avatars to personal needs.
