AMD has released a fresh Radeon Software Adrenalin 24.6.1 WHQL driver. It adds support for The First Descendant and Once Human. The AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 latency reduction feature has also been brought back, but so far only with support for Counter-Strike 2.

AMD says Anti-Lag 2 reduces lag in Counter-Strike 2 by up to 40% at 4K on Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics cards and up to 27% at 1080p on the integrated Radeon 780M graphics on the Ryzen 7 8700G processor. The feature was previously called Anti-Lag+, but after it began to conflict with in-game anti-cheats, it was removed from the driver for revision. The returned Anti-Lag 2 is enabled by default in the Counter-Strike 2 settings.
The new Radeon Software Adrenalin 24.6.1 WHQL driver also adds optimal HYPR-Tune graphics settings for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Overwatch 2, The First Descendant, F1 24, and Outpost: Infinity Siege. AMD notes that enabling HYPR-RX improves performance of Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics cards by up to 149% in Baldur’s Gate 3, F1 23, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and more.
The latest AMD driver also improves performance and reduces memory footprint for Large Language Models (LLMs) on Radeon graphics cards by supporting 4-bit quantization acceleration for all RDNA-series discrete graphics products and RDNA 3-series integrated graphics products running ONNXRuntime with DirectML. Also included in the new AMD software is support for the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL 2) preview, which enables PyTorch and supported hardware users to develop products using the AMD ROCm software environment in the Windows operating system on Radeon graphics cards, eliminating the need for a dual-boot OS setup.
In addition, the new driver expands support for the Agility SDK. In particular, support for Agility SDK 1.613.3 and the functionality of Agility SDK 1.614.0 have been added. Support for Microsoft DirectX 12 Work Graphs 1.0 API (more details here) for Radeon RX 7000 video cards, the GPU Upload Heaps option, which works in tandem with Resizable-BAR (AMD SAM) and allows the central and graphics processors to access all video memory simultaneously (more details here), Shader Model 6.8, and much more have also been implemented.

- Fixed problems with launching Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas;
- Reduced the frequency of crashes with periodic driver timeouts and application crashes in Helldivers 2 on Radeon RX 7900 series video cards;
- Fixed issues with displaying performance metrics in Helldivers 2;
- Fixed issues with occasional freezing or poor performance on hybrid graphics laptops when connecting certain external monitors that support FreeSync.

- Virtual Super Resolution or Display Color Enhancements may be disabled after updating the driver. This issue is planned to be fixed in driver version 24.7.1;
- Dying Light 2 Stay Human (Reloaded Edition) may experience image corruption when using Radeon Boost. In this case, users are advised to disable Radeon Boost as a temporary workaround.
- Intermittent image corruption may occur in Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut when enabling Record & Streaming and HDR features included with AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition;
- Occasional black distortion may be observed on scaled 3D models when using Origin or OriginPro applications. The issue is planned to be resolved in driver version 24.7.1;
