OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus Watch 2 eSIM smartwatch at an event in China alongside the Pad Pro tablet and Ace 3 Pro smartphones. The specifications of the new product largely coincide with those of the OnePlus Watch 2 model, which was released earlier this year, although there are some differences.
Just like its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2 eSIM smartwatch features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels (326 PPI) and a peak brightness of 1000 cd/m2. However, the new smartwatch is made of aluminum alloy, while its predecessor had a stainless steel case.
The OnePlus Watch 2 eSIM also uses two chips: Snapdragon W5 and BES2700. However, the new model has a Snapdragon W5 chip that runs ColorOS instead of Wear OS, while the low-power BES2700 runs a real-time operating system (RTOS). The new model is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. As the name suggests, the new model supports eSIM for standalone calls in addition to Bluetooth 5.3 calls via a connected smartphone. Another difference from the OnePlus Watch 2 is that the new model supports NFC technology.
Otherwise, the OnePlus Watch 2 eSIM specifications are the same as its predecessor. The new smartwatch is equipped with 2 GB of RAM and a 32 GB flash drive, as well as 4 GB of eMMC memory. The device allows you to track your heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep quality and stress levels, supports more than 100 sports modes for training with automatic detection of six of them.
The OnePlus Watch 2 eSIM meets the IP68 standard for water and dust protection and is also 5 ATM water resistant. The device specifications include support for Beidou, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, QZSS satellite navigation, a microphone, and a speaker. The 500 mAh battery provides up to 4 days of operation in smart mode and up to 12 days in power saving mode. The smartwatch measures 47.6 × 46.6 × 12.1 mm, weighs 37 g, and comes in Meteorite Black and Nebula Green.
Sales of the OnePlus Watch 2 eSIM will start in China on July 3 at a price of 1,799 yuan (about $247).
